People were wild camping on the land where Red Squirrel Campsite is now, since last century.Hugh MacColl found a horseshoe embedded in a tree he cut in 1970. It looked like one used by Gypsies. Since 1914 there is a written record of prices collected for camping.CAMPSITE a nature intended, casual, easy going 22 acre wooded campsite alongside the River Coe. Tents and caravans welcome.

On-site facilities
The new Ladies toilet & shower block, recently arrived and currentlly undergoing the finishing touches, is the latest improvement to the campsite amenities.- Toilets
- Hot showers
- H & C and drinking water
- Place for washing clothes & dishes
- Chemical disposal point
- Swimming hole & permit fishing on river
- Well-trained pets allowed
- Small campfires, (with care), 7am - 11pm, on old, established fire-spots
Off-site facilities
- Food Shop - 1,5 mil
- Petrol - 2 mil
- Bar/Pub/Restaurant - 5/8 mil (Clachaig Inn)
- Glencoe Hotel - 1 3/4 mil
- Indoor Heated Pool - 2 mil, (Isle of Glencoe Hotel)
